Heritage Fair 2022! A variety of participants with wonderfully interesting exhibits created a successful event. The upper level of the Kin Centre treated visitors with displays from the Irish Canadian Cultural Assoc. of NB, the Central NB Welsh Society, the NB Scottish Culture Assoc., WW1 Veterans of Stanley, the Co.H, 5th Regiment New Hampshire, Books about WW1 by Dr. Ross Hebb and finally Northside sports with a special appearance by our two-time Stanley Cup winner, Jamie Heffernan. The lower level further enhanced visitor experience with a Rock Painting demonstration by Beth McIntosh, displays from the NB Archives, CRAG (Geocaching), Fredericton Heritage Trust, Fredericton North Heritage Assoc., the School Days Museum, Devon Remembered, the Keswick Ridge Historical Society, REACH (Black History), Heaven Inn Devon, Railroad Memories, Kings Landing, Queens Co. Heritage with a loom weaving demonstration by Bruce Thomson, Nashwaak Watershed, St. Mary’s Ferry Landing, “the Little Stone Church” (St. John the Evangelist) and the Fredericton Police Force. Our visitors seemed to stroll at their leisure, leaving with many positive comments. We had some wonderful door prizes thanks to Devon Lumber, Peller Family Estates, Tim Horton’s, George A Crawford and the FNHA (Bob McNeil). A starter painting kit (donor unknown) was another welcome prize. Although the kitchen was not fully functional, the Kinsmen (Buddy) ensured much appreciated refreshments. All and all it was a great day!
